Marketing on Avengers 2

The Avengers was a true success when the film it was released in April 2012.  It has won many awards including Movie of the year at the MTV Movie Awards. At the MTV Movie Awards director Joss Whedon is already commenting on the sequel that is scheduled to film February. News about the film is starting to make way through the Internet users for those interested in the next film. Whedon was interviewed at the MTV Movie Awards about the location that the newt film will be in. It has been revealed that the film will be shot in London.
I think this is great beginning marketing tool to start revealing information and creating talk for the film. Introducing the hype for the second film as you accept an award for the first takes the energy and excitement and transfers it to the second film. This leaves the fans with the excitement and anticipation until the next film releases.
The first Avengers movie was one of the highest grossing films, bringing in a total of over $200 million dollars in its opening weekend and selling out at theaters globally. The movie itself brought home multiple awards including Best Villian and Movie of the Year, where the actors themselves received the award and previewed information about the new movie to create hype before the scenes were ever released. Since the release of the new interviews and information for the Avengers 2, the videos themselves have received more 3 million views and shares world wide, creating an international phenomenon that audiences can not wait to see.
This type of marketing tool is highly effective because it causes the audience to become invested in the production itself before the movie has even begun its filming process. By creating enough hype about the movie before it begins, it ensures that there is a large audience anticipating the release of the new film, ensuring large ticket sales.

Adding to an Empire; Jay Z’s New Role in the Entertainment Industry

Recently, Jay Z finalized his agreement New York Giants player Victor Cruz to become his manager. By holding this role Jay Z adds another venture on to his empire. I don’t think this move was a huge surprise. Jay Z has shown his interest in sports being of the owners of the Nets basketball team. With the growth of his own brand and company I think that Jay Z will be able to grow Cruz’s career in the sports industry and cross over to the entertainment industry. Since the announcement of the possible deal in November 2012 Cruz has added the Roc Nation sign to all his end zone dances. Now that it is finalized there is no doubt that he can utilize Jay Z for all of his entertainment connections.
Now that the deal is signed and finalized there are some issues arising regarding the nature of the agreement. The NFLPA is raising some concern with the pairing of these two. NFL.com discusses what the issues are concerning this deal. Since Jay Z is not a non-NFLPA certified individual complicated the new relationship. Is this a threat to the agreement? There has been no comment to what the NFLPA has officially wants to do with this. As of now, the agreement stands and it will be reviewed.
I think this is an interesting occurrence. Jay Z is a very well known from a lot of his business ideas. I feel like this should have been considered and researched when beginning this agreement. This could mean that it is not too big of a deal and the NFLPA will not bother them. Jay Z and Cruz right now are venturing into a whole new field for both of them. This will be interesting to watch the talents of both grow from this deal.
