Superheros Hit the Small Screen

Television is set to claim another superhero for the small screen.  This week premiered the ABC hit Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.  As a viewer of the show I found the season premiere to be a little slow.  The first hour of this journey was mostly introduction. The show did disclose that the new hit was a continuation to the film the Avengers.  For Marvel fans the shows announcement did bring some excitement. However, the first show did not do much for this fan. As the end of the first show I was bored of how introductory the first episode was. I wondered why it was that I felt this way. Then I understood what was going on. The show felt like the first 45 minutes of any superhero movie made. I hope that the show understands that this isn’t a three hour-long movie and learn how to captivate the audience for each show.
The reason why the success of The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is important because Fox is won the rights to start a live action show of Gotham City’s Jim Gordon.  This will definitely excited the Gotham fans having the beloved city in their homes.  The show is called Gotham and will center on Gordon before the world is introduced to Batman.  Agents of S.H.I.EL.D have given this new show an upper hand.  The creators can learn from the ABC show. First episode has arrived and notes can be taken. First I ask the creators please treat this, as it is a television show. With this being said all episodes should excite the each viewer. Agents of S.H.I.EL.D needs to pick up the excitement or the fan base will start to decline. This is a new exciting way to portray the super hero genre. The films are becoming over done. Once a year, multiple movies are being made. Now the excitement can be prolonged through each season.

Vimeo's New Adventure

Video on Demand is making more progress for independent filmmakers. At the Toronto Film Festival Vimeo has begun to make offers for 150 films to begin distributing their film online through their services. Vimeo is offering $10,000 in advancements to have these independent films exclusively distributed through their website. Not only will these films receive the advance they will also receive a 90/10 split of all revenues in favor of the filmmakers. This is a great way to distribute the film after the premiere at the film festival. Having the on demand feature gives the filmmakers the option to connect directly to their intended audience.
This is a new aggressive venue for them to explore. Vimeo released their first feature film Some Girls earlier this year. Pairing with a film festival does seem to be a logical investment. The film festival will offer many new films for Vimeo to become affiliated with. Some Girls showed the company what distributing could be for the company to move to this next step. Time will tell how successful this venue will be for each film and for Vimeo.
Video on demand is becoming a more popular distribution outlet for independent films. Vimeo is giving a huge incentive to the films that are being distributed through their service. The amount of video on demand services out there are growing and this service is in hot demand for consumers. However, how will each company obtain new filmmakers? This will be the new mission for the competing companies. Vimeo is offering a nice package for those who are a part of the Toronto International Film Festival. It will be interesting to see how the other companies will react to this offer. Will they compete by using other film festivals? Will the offer what Vimeo is and give the filmmakers a 90% share?

The two experts that I have chosen to research are Angelo Meneguzzi and Andrea Cockerton.             Andrea Cockerton is an expert on investor pitching. She explains what she does and why it is important in a short Youtube video. This is an important service for new business owners. Cockerton explains the importance of the pitch as a first impression of the company. I feel that people understand this concept without understanding this concept. First impressions are important and in the business world it can cost you it all. Cockerton’s company Mudhut is available for those in need of these services. The website for the company explains in detail what it is that the company offers.

Jurassic Park 4 The Wait is Almost Over!

Jurassic Park 4 is on its way to be filmed for an anticipated 2015 release.  Adding to this franchise of films this film should bring some excitement to the audiences. The film has already been pushed a year but director Colin Trevorrow has been optimistic for his project.  Steven Spielberg will be one of the executive producers. This is definitely exciting news for the fans of Jurassic Park knowing that Spielberg will be close to the film.
Director Trevorrow spoke with totalfilm.com and spoke briefly on the film and where it stands.  Trevorrow spoke on the film and how he would like to keep the nature to story. He stated “ It’s not about us, it’s not about our careers, it’s how do we make something that can stand against the first Jurassic Park?”  For a fan, this can be very exciting that the crew is not stretching far from the original story line. Wanting to stack up to the first film says a lot about the director’s ambition and want to make a truly quality film. I think is important and fans will appreciate the thought and effort put into this film. It has been twelve years since the last Jurassic Park movie so the anticipation and the expectations will be set pretty high.
Screenrant.com gives some insight to the rumors that have been around about this new film. One bit of news that was given was that the film will be shot in 3D and also states that Spielberg will be an executive producer and involved in the making of the film. The article includes spoilers where the film will set in Isla Nublar and the amusement park will be fully functional with dinosaurs. Of course, something will go wrong and create the dinosaur conflict that all will be anticipating.
The news on Jurassic Park 4 will build up as production is on its way. This film should get the scope on a new audience as well as the original fans for the franchise. This is exciting for film fans the rest is left for time and the release of the film!

Fast and Furious 7: Is it enough yet?

The popular franchise films Fast and Furious just released the latest installment this summer.  As the credits finished the audience was introduced to another teaser scene for the next film. With just enough enticement for the audience it looks as if there will be a seventh film added to the franchise. This film will introduce actor Jason Statham as the villain. Not much was revealed of his character but Statham interviewed with totalfilm.com about this new role.  Statham briefly discusses his excitement for this film and for the impending Expendables 3 film.  The two projects will be filmed back to back.
Statham is known for action packed films and should fit in nicely with the Fast and Furious formula for their films. The franchise made a successful turn around with the films content in the last two films. Is the story line going to continue to succeed or is this franchise pushing the limits? The films are becoming more action packed blockbusters that are competing with the surge of super hero films that are flooded the theaters. Is it safe to say enough is enough and the story of fast cars and guns has more than taken care in the past six films?
After watching the Fast and Furious 6  I was interested in the plot of the film but it did not create the sense of excitement and intensity like past films have.  The film was a nice ending for the franchise. If it was an ending. The films conclude what happens with the crew and where their lives stand. It was a nice ending to have after following the franchise films for many years. As a fan I was happy with the ending and ready to part ways with the films. It does not look like this is what Hollywood has in mind. I would go revisit the films and decide for yourself if this next film is truly needed?
