Catching Fire: Keeps getting Hot Hot Hot

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is one of the most exciting stories of The Hunger Games trilogy. This leaves many eager readers yearning for any all details of the upcoming film. There are many new aspects of this film that is being followed by many throughout the world.  The film is being shot in Georgia and Hawaii for the tow different locations in the film. News has reported that the filming has been put on pause and will return in Hawaii shortly.  For those who have read the book or are currently reading it the location of the area and the shooting locations will definitely help those imaginations! There are many photos to be found online for all of those that want an insider look into the film. This was a smart marketing tool for the film. Having these photos for fans (like me) only edges me more to be there opening night for the film!
Another aspect of the film that is driving the audiences wild is the new cast member. For the readers this is an important aspect for all the tribunes in the next games.  One of the most exciting members has been Sam Claflin who will be playing Finnick Odair. Claflin is amoung of the many that will be joining the new film. Jennifer Lawerence commented on her return to the set of the new film. She comments “It just feels like being a sophomore in high school … normally the first day at work is like a first day of school, and a lot of times you don’t know if you’re going to make friends. On this movie [though], I just “adore” everyone in [the ‘Catching Fire’ cast.”].” The interviews and photos have really given the audience involvement with the film and have helped build up excitement. All I know is the countdown is on until November 2013!

Is "Terminator 5" in Our Future?

Dreams of another Terminator film seem long and effortless. Since Halcyon Company declared bankruptcy in 2009 the rights of the Terminator franchise has been a struggle for the company. The film has been sold now to producer Megan Ellison and Annapuma Films. The next installment, however, is not to be expected to be released soon in theaters. Since Ellison has picked up the film she has hired her brother David Ellison and Jack Reacher to produce the film. This has picked up some momentum for the next installment of the franchise. For fans this is exciting but we have to remember the reality of the film. Since the purchase of the right to the franchise the film has not attained a director who is committing to the film. Director Justin Lin was asked to direct the newest installment of the franchise. This gave the fans excitement and hopes to see what will be the next chapter in the fight between humanity and Skynet. Sadly, Lin officially left the project to film with another franchise. Losing the director is another set back for the franchise and the hope of the next installment.
The franchise is not doomed. It has a team of three producers and the return of the original star Arnold Schwarzenegger. In an interview Arnold was slightly explaining some details of the film. Not much was revealed but there was talk of training for the role.  Having Arnold star in the new film might bring some luck to the franchise. This might help Annapuma Films acquire a director. This brings some positivity to the situation. Will there finally be an ending after all these years? Can the Terminator franchise be brought back to life with the return of Arnold and new faces? For the fans out there this is all we can hope for, until then it’s the waiting game.

Can "SkyFall" Be the first Bond Movie to have a modern female role?

On November 9,2012, the 23rd installment of the James Bond films is due to hit theaters in the United States. This will be another highly anticipated film for the US screens.  This franchise has been one of the longest running franchises in our time. The film was released recently in the UK and Ireland. The results in the box office were record breaking.  The films made £37.2 million in the opening week.  My question is how is today’s society going to influence this film.  One of the most notable aspects of the franchise is the “Bond Girls.” Today’s entertainment values sexual content and action suspense, which is a common theme in the Bond franchise. These values are shown through the female characters in the James Bond franchise.
The newest Bond girl, Naomie Harris, is supposed to put a modern twist on the infamous of roles.  Is this to mean that she will be half naked and helpless as many women are depicted or a stand on her own equal partner to Bond? It would be great to have a Bond girl that females can relate to. However, the odds of having one that can handle her own and not be sexualized seems like a far fetch idea. In an interview by screenrant.com, they discuss the scene where Naomie is to shave Bond. The interview goes into detail of how nerve racking it was to be given such a task and the training involved preparing for it. Having reading an article like this has me lean toward the opinion that this Bond girl will have similar traits as the others when contrasted toward the main character. The interview also continues to go into some detail about the action and preparation that Harris had to go through for the film. Harris expresses her thoughts on the training and her experience being in an action packed role. This interview provides some perspective on the film for me and gives some insight on what to expect. The final result is unknown until November 9th.   Can Skyfall be the first Bond film to have a “modern” female?
