Dreams of
another Terminator film seem long and effortless. Since Halcyon Company
declared bankruptcy in 2009 the rights of the Terminator franchise has been a
struggle for the company. The film has been sold now to producer Megan Ellison
and Annapuma Films. The next installment, however, is not to be expected to be
released soon in theaters. Since Ellison has picked up the film she has hired
her brother David Ellison and Jack Reacher to produce the film. This has picked
up some momentum for the next installment of the franchise. For fans this is
exciting but we have to remember the reality of the film. Since the purchase of
the right to the franchise the film has not attained a director who is
committing to the film. Director Justin Lin was asked to direct the newest
installment of the franchise. This gave the fans excitement and hopes to see
what will be the next chapter in the fight between humanity and Skynet. Sadly,
Lin officially left the project to film
with another franchise. Losing the director is another set back for the
franchise and the hope of the next installment.
The franchise is not doomed. It has
a team of three producers and the return of the original star Arnold Schwarzenegger. In an interview Arnold was
slightly explaining some details of the film. Not much was revealed but there
was talk of training
for the role. Having Arnold star in
the new film might bring some luck to the franchise. This might help Annapuma
Films acquire a director. This brings some positivity to the situation. Will
there finally be an ending after all these years? Can the Terminator franchise
be brought back to life with the return of Arnold and new faces? For the fans
out there this is all we can hope for, until then it’s the waiting game.
I think it would be awesome to get an amazing closure to this franchise! I was just surfing the web to find out more interesting information and ran across an article that said Annapuma Films were going to pull off a 5th and 6th movie!!! Now Arnold is confirmed for the fifth but there is no confirmation for the 6th. Looks like he "will be back" after all!
